I LOVE all of Beatrix Potter's stories
A true classic! I LOVE all of Beatrix Potter's stories! When I read her tales I'm transported to the world her characters live in and I'm joining in the characters adventures, especially Tom Kitten and his sisters. Who wouldn't love to be with them and the mischief they get into? I read this to my 7 year old niece and 5 year old nephew who absolutely loved the story. Yes, I did have to explain the meaning of some words to them, especially some British English, but they quickly caught on and were absolutely thrilled and delighted with the story and its characters. My only complaint with Beatrix Potter's books is with the small size of the pictures. I would love it if the publishers produced editions with larger pictures so children could better see the tale as it visually unfolds for them. It would also make it easier for us adults to show the pictures as we read the story to the little ones.
Exactly as expected and cute story
It was a small book, in lightly used condition, with the cute story of Tom Kitten. My baby is too young to appreciate it, but I liked it. I enjoy that it is a small book. Easy to read one handed and could fit in a diaper bag easy for travel.
I suppose that when I give this to my grand daughter I will tell her about the fun she will have using this as a coloring book
This is a charming tale and all of the content is there, but the lovely drawings are all in gray-scale. I suppose that when I give this to my grand daughter I will tell her about the fun she will have using this as a coloring book. I am very disappointedl
this is one I love to read
this happened once and now I orchestrate it because it's just so cute:
I am reading to my daughter and I can't QUITE see the words since she's holding the book, but since we read this a lot, I know most of them. This conversation happens:
Me: They stopped and stared up at the kittens. They had very small eyes and looked surprised.
Magnolia: You wanna try again, mommy?
Me: hmm?
Magnolia: stood in a row
Me: (pushing the pages of the book so I can see better) They stopped and stood in a row and stared up at the kittens...
Magnolia: good job, mommy. That's better.
this is a very cute book.

Beatrix Potter is a wonderful author! I definitely recommend these books for children. There are plenty to choose from as well! The book is around the size of an adult hand and is a hardback cover.
