This episode's Lane's Frame is The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) directed by Anthony Minghella. The first movie in my secret yearlong project to get Ricky to watch a bunch of 1999 Oscar contenders in preparation for our eventual American Beauty episode, we go in on Ripley's great cinematography and winning performances, and somehow don't get too thirsty for Jude Law along the way. Also does anyone else think about how Scorsese uses that Dropkick Murphys song like four times in The Departed? No? Just me?
