Our third Leigh film covered to date, this dramedy features another complex and slightly grating main character played hilariously by Sally Hawkins. We get into the exacting mid-aughts fashion, the clever episodic storytelling, and the emotional realism of the writing - all this after we dissect the new Mario movie trailer, of course.

This week's Rick's Pick is Blue Velvet (1986) directed by David Lynch! We aren't very impressed by this movie and struggle to connect with its themes and performances. Instead we digress about anime and an Egyptian film Ricky heard about in an Uber. Sorry Lynch fans! Maybe next time.

It's Bugonia (2025) directed by Yorgos Lanthimos!! Despite the power outages trying to stop us, we get sweaty, greasy, and stinky talking about this movie's surprisingly grounded tone, fun sound design, and the wonderful performances from all the cast except for one. Anyway you know what you're getting so just click play. After we stopped recording Ricky said he'd let Plemons "pack every hole" so don't believe his coyness herein.
