About The Talisman
From the publisher's feed
The Talisman by Sir Walter Scott is a historical novel set during the Third Crusade. It follows Sir Kenneth, a Scottish knight, who becomes entangled in political intrigue among crusading leaders like…
Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. Disgraced by betrayal and imprisoned, Sir Kenneth finds redemption with the help of a Saracen physician—Saladin in disguise. Themes of honor, loyalty, and cultural respect emerge as Christian and Muslim leaders are contrasted. The titular talisman symbolizes healing and hope. Ultimately, Kenneth regains his honor and wins his love, Lady Edith, in a story blending romance, chivalry, and historical drama. Summary by Lina
