What is the price of a life?

It was almost midnight and I had already made it up in my mind that I would wake up to a bad news. The phone would ring at about 7am and I would answer it, I would say ‘hello’ and would wait for the voice of a lady or a man (oh I pray it be a lady. There’s something about getting the blow from a woman), they’d say: ‘Chike, we did all we could, but she couldn’t make it. Your mother is dead.’ I would say thank you because I wouldn’t know what else to say. The line would go dead and I would start to cry.

At the same time, I prayed for a miracle, anything, really, anything. In my drunken thoughts, I find myself in a deep sleep, a strange land and with strange creatures I haven’t seen in my twenty-seven years of living.

The concept of toxic masculinity is used in societal and media discussions of masculinity to refer to certain cultural norms that are associated with harm to society and to men themselves.

While there is nothing wrong with owning to one's gender, traditional stereotypes of men as socially dominant may be okay some years ago, along with related traits such as misogyny and homophobia, these ideas are, however "toxic" due in part to their promotion of violence, including sexual assault and domestic violence.

In this episode, I am feeling really excited and grateful...

We live in a time when we have a communal duty to receive and broadcast love. We must set aside our repeating arguments and get a handle on our destructive depressions, religious beliefs and personal opinion.

In this podcast with Ismail, We talked about the differences (and similarities) in our different religions.

Meeting with Ismail after a long time was very refreshing. A conversation about interfaith... misconceptions, rumours and truths addressed in one room! I felt like I didn’t do justice to this but I did try to answer honestly about questions on Christianity.

2020 is just a few hours away... It is normal for people to make New Year resolutions, most of which are forgotten or thrown off after a few days.

Ever wondered why this is?

Some persons swear to be more spiritual and others promise to eat less and on time. Some sound determined to save a reasonable amount of money every month.

You would agree that there are people who go on to do these things, yet, for lots of us, these things can feel like unachievable goals.

Well this is all the resolution you need to make for 2020

It has no doubt been a good year for Afro-music and Nigerian artists as we have seen more inclusions, recognitions and even a Grammy Award Nomination. However, there’s that down side to all the glamour. The international music scene is jumping on Nigerian artists and could it all be a marketing scheme or are they clearly seeing the “talent” that is in this part of the world... 2019 saw many inclusions to Nigerian artists with Burna Boy bagging a Grammy Nomination and also being featured on Beyoncé’s Lion King soundtrack “The Gift”, Alongside artists like Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Tekno, and many other artistes....

As always, the society will always throw the stone first at the woman. Following the recent viral video of the two Babcock University students, everyone has jumped on the video and taken out time to express their own opinions. A lot of people, however, threw more stones at the lady and ignored the guy who in my opinion gave nice strokes 💁🏽‍♂️. That’s the society we live in. A man and woman caught in the act and the woman gets blamed.
