This is a reloaded chat from last year with likeable Anglo-Irish player Martin O'Donnell. He saw the funny side of the criticism for playing a slow game at times and explained what may be behind it.

In this reloaded episode from last year we met Phil Seymour, MC and presenter as well as all of the other things he does in sport and with people.

When you've coached the likes of Jimmy White, Stuart Bingham and Joe Johnson to name but a few over a 37 year career, you've got some stories to tell.

This was a great insight into how players can improve and how coaches can spot where there is extra potential and the chat is peppered with some anecdotes about some big name players.
Also a touching story about Willie Thorne around his illness and untimely passing that Alan was generous to share.

Another reloaded episode especially for those who have followed us for less than a year.

Being Nottingham based and as a fan of the mighty Reds, I was looking forward to spending some time in the company of one of the best sporting exports to come out of the city.

We enjoyed meeting Vilius to learn more about the 5-time Lithuanian Snooker Champion. He is also a pool player and the conversation even drifts into Russian billiards.

We talked a little about Lithuania and the impact of the war in Ukraine but also more generally about the snooker scene in Eastern Europe.

Interesting that Vilius had just finished some online coaching delivered to a colleague in Saudi Arabia. Truly a global sport!

I met with some snooker Superfans back in August last year to talk about the 2021/22 season ahead. We've reloaded it for you!

"The wrong Brian", "are these the Brian's you're looking for?" "he is not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy" etc etc

Ok so, funny although embarrassing story. I invited one superfan, Kellie Barker to the podcast and a second, known by thousands in snooker as Brian and on the day of the recording was told that i'd invited the wrong Brian!!!

I was after the one who keeps popping up at snooker events on the front row and other events such as the Euros football, cricket test matches etc. and invited a different Brian who is involved in James Bond podcasts as well as being a big snooker fan.

Luckily, everyone saw the funny side (I think). We had a great talk about the game, views on the short format in the first two ranking events of the season, stories of players behind the scenes etc. A really fun talk, hope you like! I think that we'll do these type of talks again more often.
