More Talking Company episodes coming in the following weeks so stay tuned!
Love y'all
Tragedy has struck Minneapolis in a major way over the past couple of days. George Floyd was killed by a police officer on Tuesday, May 26th, and peaceful protests have turned into looting, fires, and chaos. Suntina Spehar joins Jaelen and Johnny as they go in detail about what exactly happened over the past couple of days as well as their experiences at the scene of the destruction.
This episode is a teaser to The Talking Company's new podcast, Through Our Lens. In this podcast, Johnny Wedl and Seth Morem will discuss current worldly events, specifically in the United States and the United Kingdom. Our goal is to create a podcast discussing headline news in the eyes of a college student as well as build a greater worldly perspective for all of our listeners. Stay tuned for weekly episodes on Wednesday mornings!
On this episode, Jaelen and I had the pleasure of interviewing a 1994 Johnnie graduate who found his way back to Saint Johns and has been teaching finance over the past 10 years. This individual has been around the world and back, he has worked in Washington with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and he even worked on Wall Street for a number of years. In this podcast, Jaelen and I uncover our guest’s experiences in traveling the world, the books he has already written and the ones he plans to write, and we were even lucky enough to receive some valuable advice that everybody can benefit from. It is a great honor to introduce this very special guest, Mr. Bob Bell - enjoy the episode everybody.
ALSO
The three of us experienced some technical difficulties in the middle of the episode so we apologize for the mid-flight turbulence.
Top of the morning/afternoon/evening ya crazies,
This lovely episode contains stories told by Meg and her experiences as a writer and (potentially) future author. Meg talks about how meditating and dreaming can tell a lot about a person's mental state while Jaelen and Johnny ramble on about lucid dreams. In Meg's time abroad, she spent a lot of time on her own and she tells us about her experiences with that and how a lot of value can come from time alone. To end the show, Meg asked us about the origins of The Talking Company in addition to our last Christmas question before the big day! (Dec. 25th ... Duh)
**OH OH OH, lastly, 2020 is going to be a MASSIVE year. Jae and Johnny talk goals towards the end of the episode so make sure to stick around for that.**
Love you guys.
ANOTHER CHRISTMAS EDITION EPISODE!!!!! The boys had a heart to heart talk with our dear friend Haylee. From our own perspectives we all talked about mental health and the effects it has on our lives, Haylee shares her own ways how she deals with anxiety and how people can use these tactics in their own lives, the importance of animals (love ya Jit), plus much much more! We all sure hope everyone is enjoying their time with family & friends and most importantly we hope you enjoy listening.
Happy Holidays :)
The boys had a ton of fun putting this Christmas edition episode together for you all. The three of us talked about Jared's career goals in sports marketing, we paid our respects to Juice and ranked the top artists out of Chicago, we had some random banters, all SORTS of good stuff packed into this one. Not to mention, its a special CHRISTMAS EDITION!! Happy Holidays everyone, we hope you enjoy listening to this half as much as we did making it for y'all, cause we had a ball.
This week we're throwing it back with an interview we did back in the summer! Rachel comes on and we had an awesome conversation about consumerism and why she only she shops at thrift stores. Special guest, Rachel's brother Cam comes on later and he tells us a story + shares information about being in a band + more!
Good afternoon listeners! We put together an awesome episode for you guys this week. Our teammate and friend, JDubb Windsor, came onto the show and spit straight facts for about an hour and a half. We cut this one up for you all to enjoy throughout this beautiful Thanksgiving Week. Make sure to keep listening until the end where JDubb talks about how to handle failures and how to curve the lower pleasures we have in life.
Thank you all again for growing with us as we keep improving the quality of our show!
All Love,
TTC
The Talking Company welcomed the one and only Myah Chrstenson onto the show this week! We had some great conversations about sexism around our University. What can we do to stop it? Who's job is it to make a difference? As always, we topped off the episode by putting you all into the best new music! Go ahead and check out our TTC Spotify playlist to get all of our featured picks.
We hope you enjoy,
