    Meet classmates Abiba Sakanogo, Vaishak Sukumaran, and Mafe Osilia! Seasoned professionals from different continents of the world with a common desire to keep learning. Javier and Bola explore their journey from their home countries to the U.S. and ultimately the Kenan-Flagler Business School and get glances into some of their most interesting experiences with different cultures from around the world.

    In this episode, Abiba, an Executive Finance Director based in Maryland, and Mafe, a Finance Business Systems Director based in Dallas, share their experience in re-allocating to the U.S. and starting an MBA in the same year. Vaishak, a Software Engineering Manager, shares his journey to UNC and examines the importance of diversity to enrich the learning experience in the program.

    For our guests, the school values, the Global Entrepreneurship Lab (GEL), and the Leadership Program played a huge role in their decision to pursue an education at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Candidly, they shared what the future holds for them with entrepreneurial ventures and NGO efforts to increase third-world access to education, help improve refugee's quality of life and contribute to fair trade/responsible sourcing efforts.

    Meet classmates, Susie Tomko and Tyler Van Horn! In terms of academic brilliance and progressive leadership abilities, these two are easily among the top of our class. Javier and Bola examine how they leveraged their prior experience scaling the corporate ladder at an accelerated rate into continued success in the classroom.

    In this episode, Susie, currently a Global Marketing Consultant, shares her motivation to pursue an MBA and gives us a sneak peek into what her near future looks like. Tyler, an Associate Director of Operational Effectiveness, shares his journey to UNC and examines the importance of cultural fit in future opportunities.

    Meet professor Christian Lundblad! Our highly distinguished and experienced macroeconomics professor. Javier and Bola discuss his career, his role in shaping EMBA students' lives over the years, and his outlook for 2021.

    Meet classmates Dr. Christina Shenvi and Dr. Trey Craig! Full-time physicians, juggling work, families, and Business School. Javier and Bola ask them about their strategies for managing stress and time while successfully navigating an Executive MBA.

    In this episode, Christina, an Emergency Medicine physician and a consummate learner, talks about the strategies she always implements to increase efficiency and how she transformed her experience into helping busy professionals manage their time. When dealing with stress, Trey, an Orthopedic Surgeon, reveals the importance of compartmentalizing different aspects of his life and setting boundaries to calm your mind.

    Cristina explains how her new workshop, Time for your life, helps busy professionals reduce their stress levels, feel more fulfilled, and do more of what they love by managing their time better.

    They also shared what they experienced on their first day of school, what they hope to learn from the program, their peers, and what life looks like after Kenan-Flagler Business School.

    Meet classmates Luisa Santiago, Alexander Kuziel, and Andrew Murphy! Veterans coupling skills they've developed in the military with an MBA while transitioning into careers in the business world. Javier and Bola explore ways they've incorporated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and prior leadership experience with their newly developed business mindset.

    In this episode, Luisa, a former Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG), shares the leadership traits she adopted over the years from great leaders. Highlighting the Kenan-Flagler Core Values, Teamwork resonated the most with Alexander, a former Army Special Operations Manager. Alex talks about how the Executive MBA Program provides the opportunity to work in small teams and how, in this setting, you get to know your classmates better. Andrew, a former Marine and now a Consultant, reveals that he needed to strengthen his skills toolbox to compete in business.

    Our guests were gracious enough to share their personal stories and respective journeys to UNC. Their love of Carolina and all it has to offer by way of KFBS prompted their glowing recommendations to all prospective Veterans interested in Kenan-Flagler Business School.
