The Taste Test: Retro gaming with flavour!

The Taste Test returns with more spooky games, and who better to deliver horror hilarity then our guest Sheldon from the Graveyard Shift Horror With Sheldon and Mike podcast. Brandon is out celebrating Weed Day so it's just Ivan keeping Mike in line.

This year we review:

Ghostbusters 2

Gremlins 2

Castlevania 3

Enjoy :)

Mike & Ivan decided Brandon didn't have enough Link so we took the most radical departure ever this series ever took, from side scrolling to link actually using magic instead of tools, and an epic story not really shown in the game!

This was a lot to take in and discuss. We hope you enjoy it.

We were requested to cover Short Order / Eggsplode by listener Jason Wells, but due to technical difficulties we couldn't play it. So rather than face this with any other power pad game, we decided to cover EVERY power pad game and the power pad itself.

We get distracted with Canadian culture, and other beaver talk, and some impromptu karaoke and blasphemy. and then Brandon reveals he's reading Mike's notes, poorly. We take numerous stabs at Japanese culture and each other as well. Brandon experiences lag that you won't hear cause we record our tracks separate, but the banter is good so we kept it.

This is either our worst or best. Enjoy

Ivan gets promoted to Sous-Chef as Brandon is out with a case of working his actual job

Today's offering is Dick Tracy for the NES, a game that took on a lot of risks and didn't hit all the marks but offered a unique experience

Todays offering is Ninja Gaiden, the NES classic. Renowned for its challenge, can the Taste Test crew withstand the challenges of a true ninja? No. We can't.

We got a gift for you fine listeners! We get dangerous on the Taste Test as we serve up roast duck and talk about the terror that flaps in the NES, and if it holds up.

We are back with our annual grab bag, and joined with Sheldon Brown from the podcast The Graveyard Shift: Horror With Sheldon and Mike to discuss this years theme of horror game based on movies!

Mike and Brandon are back with the Taste Test, and we have pressed previous PWP guest Ivan K into service. We tackle the Belmont Curse and share our harrowing adventures during the horrible nights to have it.

We are back. Well at least the Taste Test. Ben from the Playing With Power Podcast asked us to do a Sega RPG and we went with one of the best regarded, Phantasy Star 4. It was ... divisive. Mike loved it and Brandon. Well have a listen and see how Brandon gets the story.

so this episode is dedicated to Ben. for all it's worth.
