She has 19 years of experience building brands and has held notable roles at Brand South Africa, Mondelez, STANLIB, Nedbank and TFG (The Foschini Group). Today she is the Global Marketing Officer at GoodLeaf Wellness

As Purpose Coach at the Branson Center of Entrepreneurship, she guides entrepreneurs on creating brands and business models that have a positive impact on the earth and on communities. With her in-depth experience of corporates and entrepreneurship, she is continuously looking at ways to unlock opportunities for innovation through repurposing what we already have. In her recent TEDx Talk she takes a look at how corporates can stay ahead by reimagining their role as accelerators for entrepreneurs.

As champion for women in professional and entrepreneurial spaces, she serves as a Director at SheSays Cape Town, the only global network for women in advertising and other creative industries. She is also an alumna at the Zanele Mbeki Fellowship for Female Leadership in Africa.

Kovini Moodley is an SME with 11 years across audit, risk management, process optimisation and organizational redesign for leading JSE-listed companies. She excels in transforming inefficient processes into high-performance spaces of excellence through stakeholder engagement & executive collaborations, and her SME knowledge within the audit space. Being surrounded by brilliant-minded colleagues and managers throughout her career has helped Kovini evolve and elevate her thinking in line with the best practice protocols.    

Having completed her articles at Deloitte, she ventured into management Consulting within Accenture South Africa for 4 years, where she gained tremendous experience on various facets of business optimisation and organizational design to support the effectiveness of business goals and strategies.   

Kovini has a passion for mentoring and lifting those around her. She is the founder of Boss Babes of South Africa which is an inspirational platform celebrating female leaders💙💛  

We discuss what it's like being a female in leadership positions in male-dominated environments, how she manages her time in her corporate role and running Boss Babes of South Africa, and the importance of approaching things from a place of authenticity.

Zai is an alumni and mentor of the Women’s Leadership Academy of the US Department of State. She was nominated for ‘The Most Compassionate Womenpreneur Award’ in 2019, awarded the ‘Kindness Advocate’ and ambassador of VOLK – Voice of Loving Kindness by Singapore Kindness Movement and conferred as ‘101 Most Fabulous Global Coaching Leader 2020’ by the World HRD Congress, recognized as ‘Iconic Women Creating a Better World for All’ in March 2020 at the Women Economic Forum🤝🏼  

Despite her success momentum, little is known of the tragedy that struck her in April 2005.  After a painful recovery from an accident that broke her spine and almost rendered her paralysed, Zai's determination for a comeback redefined her life's mission and that became a driving force for her to positively impact humanity. During her recovery, Zai knew that she had to step up, even when it means having to learn to walk all over again.  

Zai stands today to share her story today, empowering others on how she managed to overcome her fears and doubts and the framework she used to turn any obstacles or pain into power. She recorded her comeback journey in a semi autobiography-styled book titled ‘Turn Your Passion into Profit’ and ‘5 Things I Love About Being A Woman’, both Amazon Best-selling books🎇  

Reflecting on how far she has come, Zai explained, “I feel like I have been given a second chance in life. And now that the world brings an entirely new meaning, I am dedicating myself to inspiring others. I aspire to help people turn their pain into power and turn their dreams into reality with confidence and clarity. My hope is for the world to be on a #stepupjourney to be the strong soulful success they are meant to be. My dream is for humanity to believe that they can be whatever they want to be with faith and love."

Shivani Chetty is the Managing Director of EventMate, an event technology company, as well as an online business/startup coach.  

She knew from a young age that she would own her own business after she pursued it in her studies by completing Honors in Commerce from Wits University, specializing in advanced management and entrepreneurship. After graduating, Shivani didn’t quite know what business she wanted to start and there was a bit of fear, so she decided to spend some time in corporate to learn more about running a business.  

Shivani was Business Intelligence within the Smollan Group for a few years, and Operational Intelligence for Samsung Southern Africa; where she used to run web and mobile apps for sales teams across southern African countries. She then decided to leave to start her own event management company, and was lucky enough to land Nando’s as her client within the first two months of operating.  

Because of her background in tech, she naturally started developing solutions for herself, and that is how EventMate, the event technology company began.

Dawn to Dusk Collections is a slow fashion and lifestyle brand founded by two lifelong friends, Shannon and Kirsty.

Both ladies dived more into holistic and conscious ways of living – and through this experience, they took the plunge to create a business that could not only be a way for them to deepen their learnings and be a creative outlet, but create a community of people who help the process from the beginning to end.  A small business with big dreams.

Leah Molatseli is a lawyer, published legal tech author, speaker and Legal Tech and Innovation Specialist who currently holds the role of Head of Business Development at Legal Interact. She focuses on the intersection between law, innovation and technology, using her expertise to educate and empower the legal market.   

She is a Guest Lecturer at the University of Cape Town where she develops and teaches legal tech and innovation related courses to the broader legal industry. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow, a University of Notre Dame alum who enjoys everything that speaks to using technology and innovative processes to empower lawyers in whatever roles they find themselves in, from practicing lawyers to inhouse legal teams.   

She sits as a Council Member of the University of the Free State, is part of the Advisory Board for the Global Legal Tech Hub and Women in Tech South African Chapter, a country member for the Global Legal Tech Consortium and is one of 2022’s ILTA’s Most Influential Women in Legal Tech Honouree.
