Not only does the cross make the world less appealing to us, but we also lose some our appeal to the unsaved world. 

Jesus’ words would separate the curious from the committed.

We’re to concentrate on things above with the intention of allowing what we find there to impact our actions.

Peter had not become Satan, but in that moment he was speaking the words of Satan.

Think God is finished with you because your work days are behind you?  Think again.

The problem with trying to be “good enough” to enter heaven is we’re not perfect judges of what is “good,” and there is no standard for how much is “enough.”

Jesus pursued those others avoided. 

Real life is found in God; don’t try to find it anywhere else! 

There’s a better alternative than endless striving, and it’s to rest in the knowledge that God is God.

Don’t forget in the darkness what God told you the light.
