COVID-19 disrupted normal life, many people paused their dreams. For Tr Eva, it awakened one.
In this inspiring episode of The Teacher Podcast, I sit down with Tr Eva, founder of Loving Hands Kindergarten and Primary School, to explore her remarkable journey from banker to school founder.
Although Eva was professionally trained as a teacher, she had transitioned into banking in search of financial stability. But when schools closed during the pandemic, she made the decision to homeschool her own children and hired a teacher to support them at home.
Soon, other parents began asking if their children could join. What started as a small home learning setup quickly grew to 28 children.
Faced with an unexpected opportunity, Eva stepped into unfamiliar territory filled with uncertainty, self-doubt, and difficult decisions. After COVID, she moved the school from her home into a nearby facility and eventually made one of the boldest decisions of her life, leaving her banking career behind to pursue education full-time.
In this conversation, Eva shares the realities of building something from the ground up, navigating fear of the unknown, and learning to trust purpose even when the path is unclear.
This episode is a powerful reminder to educators and aspiring leaders that sometimes the opportunities we fear most are the very ones meant to transform our lives.
🎧 If you have ever questioned whether to take the leap, this conversation is for you.
This episode of The Teacher Podcast tells the story of Noelline Nanyba Watima, a teacher whose life changed after the birth of her son, who has autism.Â
In this deeply inspiring episode, I sit down with Paul Naigo to uncover the powerful story behind the man championing teacher autonomy in Uganda today.
Paul’s journey began with loss—after the death of his father, a Good Samaritan stepped in and changed the trajectory of his life, sending him to teacher training college right after S.4. From navigating the harsh realities of delayed and unpaid teaching salaries to eventually finding his footing at Watoto, Paul’s passion for teaching steadily grew into a calling for leadership and teacher development.
But one defining moment changed everything—watching a teacher who looked like him, capable yet lacking confidence, sparked his passion to advocate for teacher autonomy.Â
Today, Paul strongly believes that teachers should be trusted to do their work, supervised by fellow educators who truly understand the classroom.
He now leads efforts through Edagogy Uganda, continuing to empower teachers to find their voice, confidence, and professional respect.
This episode is not just about teacher autonomy—it’s about resilience, mentorship, faithfulness in small beginnings, and the power of believing in teachers.
If you are a teacher, school leader, or education enthusiast, this conversation will both challenge and inspire you.
This week on The Teacher Podcast, I sit down with Tr. Dr. Mercy, a PhD holder in Education Research and Evaluation, who takes us on a deeply inspiring journey from the classroom to the highest level of academic achievement.
Born into a humble family, with a father who was a teacher and a mother who was a homemaker,Dr. Mercy grew up with a dream of becoming a medical doctor. When that dream didn’t come true, she faced disappointment early in life. Yet instead of giving up, she made a bold decision: she would still become a “doctor,” no matter the path.
Although her parents had hoped she would not follow in her father’s footsteps, life led her into the teaching profession. But Dr. Mercy refused to settle. Faced with numerous challenges, she chose growth. She pushed herself, pursued further studies, acquired new skills, and continuously challenged the status quo.
Today, she holds a PhD, and her story is a powerful reminder that growth is possible for every teacher.
In this episode, she encourages educators to believe in themselves, take bold steps, invest in their development, and dare to rise beyond limitations.
This is more than a story of success,it’s a story of resilience, purpose, and the courage to dream again
