Brad's Bio and Contact Information
Brad Wetzler is a writer, editor, memoir coach, and teacher who has spent his life chasing big stories—both out in the world and within himself. He began his career as an editor at Outside magazine, working with some of America’s finest nonfiction writers. As senior editor and later a longtime contributing editor, he helped shape narratives about adventure, endurance, and exploration. He served as editorial project manager for "Into Thin Air," by Jon Krakauer. Eventually, he left the editor’s chair to become a writer himself, traveling the world to report on adventure, politics, business, the environment, and wellness for The New York Times, Newsweek, National Geographic, Wired, GQ, Travel + Leisure, Men’s Journal, and other publications.
In midlife, after years of chasing the next great story, he found himself on an unexpected journey inward. Recovering from a long battle with depression, he turned to yoga, meditation, and deep spiritual inquiry, seeking answers beyond the material world. Now a certified yoga teacher and memoir coach, Brad writes and teaches about personal transformation, faith, and the complex intersection of mind and spirit. His memoir, Into the Soul of the World, explores his search for healing from depression, PTSD, and addiction and quest for meaning through travel, struggle, and self-discovery. He’s currently at work on a new book about belief, doubt, and the long road to faith.
Brad is also the founder and lead teacher of Writing the Soul, a personal development and guided journaling course designed to help people reconnect with their true selves through writing. Through his coaching and teaching, he helps writers turn raw experience into compelling narrative—guiding them to find the deeper wisdom in their own lives.
He lives in Boulder, Colorado, where he hikes the mountain trails with his dog, Tommy, and helps others bring their stories to life.
