Your San Bernardino Countty Bargaining Team has worked dilengtly to secure the most lucrative union contract county employees have ever had. Their relentless commitment to your collective interests has resulted in some truly remarkable highlights within this agreement which you will hear about in this podcast. 

In this episode we talk about how the County has released the 2023 to 2024 medical rates for its plans and what it means for our members. 

Bargaining units throughout the County have seen significant reductions in how much the medical plans cost over the last four years since we last bargained for the MOU, and the County’s rate should be alarming to you and your family. Still, the announcement of these rates is premature.

That is why the Teamsters Local 1932 Health and Welfare fund Trustees have decided to postpone establishing rates until negotiations have concluded, so members of the Trust will see rates will stay the same until bargaining has ended and we can identify how much the county is willing to commit to your behalf. 

Have you noticed our new billboard on our local freeway asking this question? Health care is considered affordable if a household can pay for estimated annual premiums and out-of-pocket spending without cutting into spending for other necessities. But how much is too much?

On Monday, August 15th, 150 Amazon employees at the company’s air hub in San Bernardino abandoned their workstations mid-shift over low wages and concerns regarding heat safety. Together they demand a $5 pay raise and safer working conditions.
