Despite the ongoing pandemic, it’s somehow premiere week here at the podcast. There’s plenty of TV to discuss, but only one show both Noel and Kate have watched, our season spotlight, Julie and the Phantoms season one. But before we dive in with this bright, cheerful Netflix offering, we have a full week in TV to discuss. First up is the return of Archer, then the soft reboot of Dancing with the Stars, a check-in with RuPaul’s Drag Race: Vegas Revue, some thoughts on The Great Pottery Throw Down, the premiere of The Third Day, the Peacock debut of Departure, and another troubling Lovecraft Country. Tune in for our thoughts on these and more, then reach out with your takes on the week’s TV, and Netflix’s new entry into spooky High School Musical territory.

It’s another challenging week, so we’re going full ridiculous, escapist fare this episode. Noel and Kate kick things off with some TV news, then move to a truncated week in TV. Noel catches us up with We Bare Bears: The Movie, then Kate checks in with The Great Canadian Baking Show, we both talk Blown Away season one, and Kate teases the Holey Moley II: The Sequel finale. We round out the week with some thoughts on a disappointing Lovecraft Country, and then head to the spotlight section. This episode, we welcome friend of the show Keenan Caldwell to help us discuss season one of Netflix’s Alta Mar, or High Seas. Melodramatic murder mystery mayhem on a transatlantic voyage! Fabulous ensembles and cabins and tropes for days. Tune in for our thoughts, then reach out with your take on the week’s TV and the escapist programming you’ve been turning to.
