This session discusses the interaction that Jesus had with the devil and how He resisted temptation. Jesus was tempted just as we are, yet He is without sin. Jesus gives us an example of how to resist the temptations of the evil one. We discuss Jesus’ fasting, the subtleties of temptation, how Jesus responded to the temptations, and what lessons we can learn from Jesus’ example.  We also get a major change in the book of Matthew that teaches us some things about the kingdom that Jesus is proclaiming. 

• What is the purpose of fasting? 
• What should we do when we are tempted?
• Why would Jesus change His message halfway through Matthew? 
• What does it mean to say “the kingdom is at hand?”
• When Jesus asks people to follow Him, how do they respond?
