The First Sunday in Lent takes place in the wilderness. Jesus has just been baptized, and God has called him his beloved Son. In today's text, the devil tries to make Jesus doubt his identity. He wants us to question our identities, too. Thanks be to God, through the indelible work of Christ, you and I are children of God, too! We can trust this promise, because "though everyone be a liar, God is no liar."
