In this episode of The Establish The Man Podcast I explain and define the first core principle of Establish The Man. Core principle number 1 is: “When a man falls the whole family falls. When a man stands in his true masculine character and identity, the whole family stands”. This principle outlines how important a man’s mental health is in regards to his marriage and family. The man of the family provides the foundation that the family strength is built upon. When that foundation is strong then the family can feel secure and empowered to live strong and empowered lives. When the man of the family provides a shaky or unbalanced foundation then the family lives from that vulnerable position and it often causes stress, fear and insecurity within the family. A man who stands in his true masculine power by developing his strong personal character and identity, is a man the family can rely on and look up to. The established man empowers his wife and family to be the best they can be. The unestablished man disempowers his wife and family and puts a burden on them to overcome before they can build their own strength. A man’s role is to provide stability and inspiration for his wife and children to build their own power upon. When we create obstacles, drama and trauma in our family, we place an unnecessary burden on their lives which they often carry for the rest of their lives. Of course many people overcome their trauma and childhood fears to become very successful in life. But they often live from a place of desperation rather than inspiration. Establish The Man is about learning to inspire and motivate our children to go after their life purpose and calling to live big lives serving others and making a real positive contribution to the world. This first core principle is designed to inspire that desire within us men. None of us are perfect. None of us have it all figured out. We are always works in progress. But Let’s make sure we are works in progress by doing the work necessary to establish ourselves in our true masculine power. Then from that place of strength and abundance lead our children to do the same.
