Ā Im your host, Danny McLaughlin ā The Patriot Realtor ā coming to you straight from Franklin, Tennessee. And todays episode? Its personal. Its foundational. Its what separates the pros from the posers.
Todays topic: Relationships Over Commissions
OBSERVATION
Too many Realtors ā and lets be real, Iāve been there too ā fall into the trap of the transaction mindset. Always chasing the next lead, the next number, the next shiny listing. Its easy to start treating people like steps on a ladder instead of souls on a journey.
But real estate isn't about buildings ā it's about people. People getting married. People starting over. People grieving a loss. People stepping into their next chapter.
Were not just selling houses. Were walking into sacred ground.
If you want to last in this industry, youve got to stop counting deals ā and start counting people as more important than profit.
LESSON
So heres the big shift that changed my career ā and honestly, changed my heart:
People arenāt leads. Theyāre assignments.
When I started showing up for my clients like Iād show up for family⦠everything changed.
- I stopped dropping off closing gifts and started delivering casseroles.
- I stopped asking for referrals and started asking about their kidsā ball games.
- I showed up. I checked in. I prayed with some of them. I cried with a few.
And you know what? Referrals started coming in like crazy. Not because I had the slickest script ā but because I made a sincere connection.
Your business will grow when your heart grows bigger than your hustle.
SCRIPTURE
Let me bring it back to the Word for a second.
Philippians 2:3-4 says:
Ā "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."
Yāall ā thatās not just a Sunday verse. Thatās a business principle.
If you walk into a listing appointment with that attitude? Youāll walk out with a client for life. Maybe even a friend. Maybe even a Kingdom opportunity.
