Currently sitting at 63 degrees after barely budging overnight. If you're on the roads early, take it slow. The fog should burn off by late morning.

In Now here's kicker, today's high of 88 degrees is running 45 degrees above normal for early March. That's more late April than early spring. South Texas pushes toward 88 with muggy air. The Gulf Coast hits 83 under mostly cloudy skies. Central Texas reaches 85, while North Texas tops out around 82. Light south winds keep things breezy but comfortable.

Tonight stays mild. Lows drop to the upper 60s to low 70s statewide. That fog may redevelop after midnight, especially along the coast.

Central Texas stays mostly cloudy with just a slight rain chance, topping out near 70. North Texas? You win today. Patchy fog burns off by mid-morning, then sunshine takes over. Highs near 73.

Tonight, that stalled front lifts back north. Patchy fog redevelops, especially along the coast. Lows settle in the upper 50s to upper 60s statewide.

Monday brings mostly cloudy skies and warming temperatures — highs jump into the low to mid 80s. South Texas could hit 86. Tuesday continues warm and muggy, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Now here's the big story. A strong cold front barrels through late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms. Down in South Texas, thunderstorms are already rolling through. You've got a a chance of showers and storms this morning, topping out at 73 degrees. The Gulf Coast sees scattered storms too, mainly before 9 A.M., then just patchy fog. You'll hit 74 degrees there.

Central Texas stays mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers after 1 P.M. Highs reach 70 degrees. And up in North Texas? You're the lucky ones. Patchy fog clears by 10 A.M., then sunshine takes over. Highs near 73 degrees.

Tonight, muggy air returns as that front retreats north. Lows range from 59 degrees in North Texas to 70 degrees along the Gulf Coast. Patchy fog develops statewide.

Monday brings warmer, more humid air. Highs jump into the low 80s across most of the state — 81 in North Texas, 82 along the Gulf Coast, 83 in Central Texas. And 86 down south. A few isolated showers are possible, but most of you stay dry.

Tuesday stays warm and muggy with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. But Tuesday night into Wednesday? That's when things get interesting. A massive heat surge is pushing statewide today. South Texas takes the biggest punch. McAllen and Laredo climb to 92 degrees by mid-afternoon — that's 52 degrees above normal for March. Heat index values could touch 92 as well. It'll feel sticky down there.

Central Texas reaches the mid-80s. Austin and San Antonio hit 84 under mostly cloudy skies. The Gulf Coast stays slightly cooler thanks to onshore flow. Houston tops out at 82, while Corpus Christi reaches 84. Winds gust to 30 miles an hour along the coast this afternoon.

North Texas sees highs around 81 in Dallas-Fort Worth. But here's the catch. Scattered thunderstorms develop this afternoon and evening. A few could turn strong to severe, bringing large hail and damaging winds. The best chance is east of I-35 and north of I-20.
