The Therapy Couch

He promises his love to her every time they meet but then he leaves her only to make surprise, inconsistent and unannounced visits. Why does her heart still burn for a man who only comes around to make love but doesn't stay long enough to witness that love bloom?

This is a poem I wrote about a war. The poem is from the point of view of a women's ghost that wanders the battlefield wondering if her death was worth all the bloodshed. She's hurting, wailing and waiting to find peace. But what will she do if peace doesn't exist? What will she do if her new reality is a warzone, forevermore?

This is a poem I wrote about an old man that I used to imagine as a child. A lot of children who grow up alone have imaginary friends and mine was an old man. A grandpa who loved me! As I grew up, I forgot about this friend. Now that I remember him, he deserves a tribute. Hello, old friend. I'll see you again someday.

We come in all shapes and sizes. You are beautiful just the way you are. The world may not see that sometimes but you can! So, you should.

The world is hard on us but we can be easy on ourselves. The people in the world don't always get us but we can try knowing ourselves.
