The Things You Didn't Know About Infertility

Listen Later

** NEW GUEST ALERT **
The amount of women struggling with fertility is very real. Gina, who was diagnosed with PCOS, details her experiences trying to conceive & uses her background as a nurse to help educate us on what the f*ck is really going on. She's answering all your questions while also taking a deep dive on topics.

Gina would also like to add (when asking for labs/testing) if you have PCOS ask your doctor to check on your Sugar, Glucose level, A1C (average glucose level over three months), and Insulin Resistance. If your glucose is not being broken down and you are insulin resistant - this could be a reason for not being able to lose weight. Which also leaves potential to become prediabetic. *Gina is a lean mass person with PCOS and non-insulin resistant (which is not the norm, it's more common to be insulin resistant).* The reason most women with PCOS have trouble with losing weight and gaining weight is because of their insulin resistance. Not being able to breakdown glucose turns into fat - instead of fuel for the body.

Please speak with your doctor when it comes to anything we are talking about in this episode, keep asking questions & be your own advocate!!
