Most people hear the words gangs or mafia, their minds typically go to that of Al Capone and the Chicago Outfit (aka Outfit, Chicago Mafia, or the South Side Gang.) But not everyone knows of the one that comes from right here in Michigan and was pretty infamous during the Prohibition Era. The Purple Gang! I first heard from them from a previous job, which I talk about in the podcast and why it fascinated me. And now, come with me as I lead you into the rise and fall of the Purple Gang.

Michelle and Julia got to go on a brand new adventure this weekend, attending the book convention, Dreaming Dirty in Michigan. It was an amazing new experience for them both, as it held a completely different vibe to the conventions they have gone to for cosplay. Every author with their own unique books, all of them incredibly nice and informative. The overall experience was super inspiring for them as they are plotting out their own book with the goal to one day return to again! 

We highly recommend this event for anyone who enjoys supporting Indie authors, with a variety of different topics and styles!

Come with me as I talk about the lesser talked about subject known as the Casket Girls. This subject first drew my attention as I was watching The Originals, the spin off of The Vampire Diaries, based in New Orleans. When I got to the episode revolving the festival, something about it really caught my attention and spoke to me, given that it's not one you typically hear about outside of New Orleans itself. So I wanted to bring it into light and talk about it, to the best of my ability.

Come along on this interesting Welsh custom, one that I once thought would be similar to the previous ones, that delighted and surprised me by being one of humor and fun. The Mari Lwyd was the perfect finale for a more lighthearted and beautiful legend that I would love to participate in at some point in my life. What I once thought scary from the outside was both meaningful and impactful!
