The Tigers Down Under

We're back after a short hiatus to recap on three recent draws with Preston North End, Birmingham and Leicester City, three draws of varying respectfulness. After the imposed International/FA Cup break, City return to action over Easter against Stoke and Leeds in two games that could prove pivotal to our play off chances.

A stellar strike from Carvalho meant that the honours were even against WBA in a game City couldn't lose. Another game City can't afford to lose faces us this weekend against a rejuvenated Preston North End, before a mid-week trip to welcome Birmingham City, managed by a fourth different manager for the fourth clash of the season.

What a week to be a City supporter! With a last minute winner at Huddersfield on the weekend followed up by a sensational performance against Southampton mid-week, City now find themselves in the Top 6 and a legitimate contender to finish up there. We also look ahead to West Brom in what proves to be a crucial fixture on the weekend.

A flat, awful home performance against Swansea was followed by going down early against Rotherham and could have seen City in a stick position as other sides around them picked up results, but a Philogene moment of brilliance before a well taken goal from new boy Noah Ohio spared City's blushes and saw us make it 2 wins in 3.

A first glimpse at several new signings and the return of Jaden Philogene highlighted a 1-0 win over Millwall which could have been much more given the way the side started the game. Plum fixtures against Swansea and Rotherham give City the chance to keep the ball rolling.

A strong and gritty win against Sunderland prior to CIty's mini-'Winter break' saw City enter the final days of the transfer window buoyed by the three points. A flurry of activity is on the agenda with Ivor Pandur, Noah Ohio and Ryan Giles confirmed since the full time whistle, with Abdulkadir Omur flying over for a medical. Millwall await on the weekend for what could be a quite refreshed City side.

The Tigers Down Under look back on the second half of the most recent season spent in the Premier League, as Marco Silva tried his best to keep us up with the help of his loan army.

Worrying form continues for City with a frustrating loss to Norwich on Friday night, before a late heartbreak against Birmingham in the FA Cup replay despite a valiant effort from a largely under-age City side. Sunderland are our opponents this week on another Friday night fixture before a welcome week off from league action.

A drab draw in the FA Cup highlighted by Matty Jacob's debut goal for City and Billy Sharp's debut was overshadowed by more significant off-field news with some transfer incomings as well as injury news dominating the focus. Norwich this Friday night/Saturday morning looms on the horizon as City look to snap a poor run of form.

A mixed bag to round out 2023 and welcome in the New Year as City held on for a strong result against Blackburn, a side we seem to take a delight in beating in recent times, before a poor defeat to Blackburn not helped by a controversial red card. It's the FA Cup this weekend, and the transfer window is now open.
