The Tigers Down Under

A 1-1 draw with Reading was a disappointing way to sign off before the International break, but a bumper crowd at home for a Yorkshire derby with Rotherham United is an exciting way to return from the break. Aaron Connolly is potentially back in the line up as we field an almost fully fit squad.

Oscar was back on the scoresheet as City put in a second impressive performance in a row against a strong Coventry side. Improved performances across the board were a joy to watch, and with Burnley coming up mid-week there was no better time for City to pick up the paces. Reading are our opponent this weekend as we look to avenge a disappointing pre-World Cup loss.

A great and reasonably unexpected win over WBA saw a turnaround in City's fortunes after a 4 game winless run. City are now settling quite comfortably into mid-table which leaves us in the role of spoiler for the play off picture. Coventry are up next for us to try to trip up.  ________________________________________________

Another defeat to make it four games without a win and City's form has fallen off a cliff at the wrong time. We look back on defeat at Ashton Gate in the context of the remainder of our season, look ahead to West Brom in what promises to be a now-or-never clash.

A second 0-0 in three games, this time against Preston North End in a strangely strong overall performance despite the result. A number of missed chances costing us the three points, but an impressive debut from Xavier Simons. Bristol City to come this weekend, plus a few whispers of acquisition plans off the pitch to discuss.

Well we came crashing back to Earth with a dour draw at Stoke before being touched up at Norwich which bursts the promotion dream just as it was forming in our heads. A clash against fellow mid-tablers Preston next weekend offers a chance to bounce back and stay in touch with the pack.  ________________________________________________

Back to back home wins as City see off a tense affair against Cardiff courtesy of a brilliant penalty save from Ingram (assisted by some Cyrus Christie s**thousing). A brilliantly taken goal from Christie sealed the win, and has City only 4 points off the play offs.. do we dare dream? Two clashes to come this week with Stoke City the appetiser to a big clash with Norwich.

The curse is finally broken! A fantastic victory against QPR with Connolly bagging a brace is the main topic of conversation this week, as well as the impending closure of the Transfer Window. A second successive home game against Cardiff City awaits next weekend as a move into the top half of the table stands as a likely reward.

A promising display against Sheffield United that ultimately ended in a defeat is the main talking point from the weekend, while a new transfer link has emerged with Karl Darlow from Newcastle on the agenda. Looking ahead, a home clash with QPR provides the latest opportunity to shake off the home curse.  ________________________________________________

Familiar issues at home as City slumped to a third successive 1-1 draw against opposition which was there to be had. Is it a concern or is the refusal to lose still a positive aspect? We also look at the latest transfer news with a number of players leaving the club, a surprise signing emerges, and a mouthwatering clash with all-but-promoted Sheffield United.
