On August 21st, 2017 a Total Solar Eclipse will travel coast to coast across the United States for first time since 1918 (99 years), casting a 70 mile wide shadow that will turn day to night and back to day again in a matter of minutes for those directly in its path. This extremely rare event has been hailed the “Great American Eclipse.”
After having to wait 99 years for the “Great American Eclipse”, a second Total Solar Eclipse will cross America less than 7 years later, on April 8, 2024 to be exact. To be even more exact, on April 8, 2024 that Total Solar Eclipse will pass directly over Dallas, TX of all places, birthplace of the Helping Friendly Book Club.
Is this random? Is this the opposite of random? Words fall short.
Inspired by the visionary genius of Francis Bacon, and to commemorate these two precisely random/notrandom astrological events, the Helping Friendly Book Club is going to bury a Time Capsule during the first eclipse, and dig it up when the second eclipse blacks out the sun in Dallas in 2024, 7 years later.
