In this episode, we talk to Anish Malpani, who is a social impact entrepreneur based out of Mumbai, India. Anish used to work as a corporate finance specialist in New York City. Life was good, and so was the money, but while living the NYC life, he would often feel depressed. This caused him to rethink what he wanted to do with his life. After much thought, deliberation and introspection, he realised that he would feel a lot more fulfilled if he was working for impact, rather than just money. This realisation led him to devising his own 'custom MBA', in the pursuit of which he lived in 3 different countries over 2.5 years, worked with social impact start-ups around the world and thereby learned a lot about social impact, entrepreneurship and people.
This is a must listen episode for anyone considering a change in career, and also to those who want to pursue mid-career upskilling without going down the well trodden route of an MBA or similar program. These days there are many ways to learn new skills, and Anish lets you in on some of the strategies he used to get ready for the next stage in his career.. So buckle in and enjoy the next 38 minutes!
