It's been a year since we started the SJY Facebook community and this podcast. We figured we'd take this opportunity to reflect on the Junkyard community, its culture, and everything that makes it special.
Consider this our thanks to all of the members and admins who have helped make the Saturn Junkyard/Saturn Graveyard/Saturn (car) Junkyard/Nintendo 64 Junkyard an immensely fun place to hang out over the last year. Cheers!
The time is nigh for a special Halloween episode of the Saturn Junkyard's TitanCast! In this spooky episode, Nuno, Simon, Sam, and Brian share their experiences with some of the Saturn's spookiest (and not so spooky) Halloween hits. Join us as we chat Resident Evil, Deep Fear, D, Alien Trilogy, Casper, and more!
In this episode, the Titancrew discusses piracy and the importance of striking the balance between protecting creative intellectual property and the need to preserve gaming's history, particularly in light of the recent shutdown of various ROM sites around the web. We tackle various questions including: - How long should IP rights last for video games? - Who/What is the Robin Hood of video games? - Is Nintendo the Disney of video games? What does that make Sega? - Is retro game piracy bad? - But is it really *that* bad?
In this episode, we step back from the nostalgia and chat about the surprisingly rich slate of recent and upcoming titles from our favorite game maker in 2018! Simon is out, unfortunately, but Sam, Nuno, and Brian are joined by Mike Phelan from the Dreamcast Junkyard's DreamPod and Patrick Traynor from the Sega Saturn Shiro podcast. Dive in with us and revel in this current renaiSEGAsance we're living in! Discussed in this episode: Shenmue I & II HD, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and the series at large, Team Sonic Racing, Sonic R, Streets of Rage 4, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, and more
After a pretty lengthy hiatus, the TitanCast crew is back, and ready to throw down! Join us as we discuss a litany of fighters, both 2D and 3D, on our beloved Sega Saturn. From what they brought to the genre, to our personal taste, this is sure to be a cast that draws a few eyebrows and sparks a decent debate. Also, The SSG straight pulled a card out of the witness protection program, so voice modulators at the ready!
Join in on one insane ride, as the TitanCast Crew is joined by a new visitor and "TRIES" to discuss RPG's on our beloved Saturn. Will things go off without a hitch? HA... no.
Join in for a speeding discussion on one of SEGA's all time classics, Sega Rally! In honor of our brother Nuno's, in depth video of the history and alterations the classic would receive, we felt it quite fitting to dedicate an entire hour to it. So slap in that 5-point harness, rev up, and let's make it to the next checkpoint or it's GAME OVER... YEAH!!
No topics, just news, and the ramblings that they lead to. Take a listen to the raw thoughts of the TitanCast crew as it pertains to Shenmue HD, the gaming community, and retro gaming as a hole. You never know how deep the rabbit hole goes until you take the leap.
The TitanCast crew take a trip back down memory lane and discuss the bridge between the Saturn and Dreamcast. They discuss series that span both consoles, as well as games that should have been Dreamcast launch games but were launched at the tail end of the Saturn's life cycle. PLUS, they discuss the greatest game of all time, and its Saturn roots.
