"Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live." Can you imagine hearing those words? Those were the words King Hezekiah heard in 2 Kings 20:1. He responded like many would, 2 Kings 20:2-3. He prayed and wept bitterly. Then something amazing happened! Isaiah the prophet, told Hezekiah that God would grant him 15 more years of life, 2 Kings 20:6. God gave this man a SECOND CHANCE! 

What did he do with his second chance? 

What will we do with ours? 

In the ancient world, crucifixion was seen as a particularly disgraceful and grievous form of execution. 

Our Savior would be crucified on the cross. 

In this episode, I talk a bit about the history of crucifixion. It helps to put in perspective what Jesus went through for us. 

"Does God really love me?"

"Can anything good come from suffering?"

"Are we more than flesh and blood?"

"Am I truly valuable and special?"

Have you ever asked questions like these? The answers can be found in the Bible. 

The answers can be found when you take the time to survey the cross of Jesus. 

It's an interesting and comforting statement that Jesus makes in Luke 14:12-14. 

"...For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." 

Why did Jesus make this statement? Find out! 

"I see this in Jesus, but do I see it in me?" That's a statement I read in a book a few years ago. It stuck with me. 

The qualities, habits, and characteristics that Jesus had, hopefully, we will have too. As His disciples, He is to be the one we follow and emulate. 

There's a man by the name of Apollos. We read about him in Acts 18. 

He was a mighty speaker and zealous for the Lord. 

He was also a man who had a humble heart. 

This is the kind of heart we are to have as followers of Christ. 

As we journey in this life, we will face challenges. We will suffer for the cause of Christ. 

The apostle Paul had the right perspective when it came to his life. Will we? 

Consider his words in Acts 20, where he said, "I do not consider my life..."

As Christians, we are to be hearers and doers! 

Each week, we hear a sermon preached. It's great to hear a sermon preached! It's even better to take action and do what it is we hear!

In life, it's always important to ask the question "Why." Having a strong "Why" when it comes to all we do, will help us to be successful. It's important for us as Christians to know why we are to be holy!
