A reported raid on indie bookstore Toko Buku Rakyat, resulted in the confiscation of two books, supposedly under the Printing Press and Publications Act 1984 - although the Home Minister has since said it is inaccurate to call this a raid, and that the books had been "taken" to be reviewed. Notably, neither of the books are on the banned books list. The incident has drawn a lot of criticism for what is being seen as heavy-handed response from the government; we discuss the legalities of what happened.
