The Tokusatsu Network Podcast

Editor-in-Chief Paula Gaetos chats with artist Kyle Carrozza, creator of the Cartoon Network animated series, Mighty Magiswords.

Recorded: August 1, 2016

Kyle Carrozza was the Tokusatsu Network's inaugural Artist Feature and we were very happy to be able to chat with him about his latest work on Cartoon Network, Mighty Magiswords. Mighty Magiswords is set to premiere on September 29th at 6:30pm. The show centers around the adventuring siblings,  Prohyas and Vambre, and their trusted, fun, and, often times, ridiculous Magiswords.

The show builds on the original 15-second series that launched the previous year on the interactive CN Anything app.

Concurrent with the upcoming TV series production, almost 400 pieces of platform-specific original content have been custom developed, including shorts, vlogs, web and mobile games, and interactive narrative content—and all will be enhanced with proprietary technology allowing fans to participate in the world and collect their favorite swords.

Fans can also see the first full preview episode of Mighty Magiswords for free on iTunes and purchase the whole season as it's released.

A very special thanks to Kyle Carrozza and Melissa Mills for making this episode possible.

***While it may be hard to hear Paula's audio at points during the interview due to technical issues, Zander's audio is clear.***

Who are you?! Team TokuNet tackles this question and more as they review Kamen Rider Amazons.

Recorded: July 9th, 2016

Surprisingly literally everyone earlier this year, Toei announced the 13-episode series as part of the Super Hero Year celebration. Distributed exclusively on the Amazon Prime Video service, Kamen Rider Amazons followed the two distinct paths of Haruka Mizusawa/Kamen Rider Amazon Omega and Jin Takayama/Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha.

Join the team as we discuss our first impressions after hearing the news of this brand new show, our reactions to the first few episodes of the series, as well as what we'd like to see from a season 2 of the show. We also get into fisticuffs over the age old question: #TeamJin or #TeamHaruka.

Four warriors are gathered by the TokuNet Alliance to discuss the latest entry in the Voltron franchise, Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Recorded: June 26th, 2016

Announced earlier this year at WonderCon, fans were surprised to learn of Dreamworks' latest project. Set to be a reboot of the classic TV show, Voltron: Legendary Defender boasted a new look, a stellar cast of voice actors, and a story that both paid homage to its predecessor and paved the way for new avenues for the characters to explore.

After the obligatory bingeing of the series, Team TokuNet got together to talk about what they thought the series. We talk about our history with the various Voltron shows, our reaction to the initial announcement, our thoughts on certain plot points throughout the series, as well as where we think the show could go if/when we get a second season.
