In this episode of the Salvation Essentials Series, Pastor Tolu Ayeni took us through what it truly means to be saved. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15:1–11, Colossians 1, Romans 10, and more, we’re reminded that salvation doesn’t come from being born into a Christian home, changing habits, or doing good works — it comes from hearing the Gospel and believing in Jesus Christ.
We stand firm on the message we received: Christ died and rose again for our sins. It’s not about striving; it’s about faith. Good works follow salvation, but they do not cause it. Even “good” people still need the Gospel, just like Cornelius in Acts 10.
We also talk about resisting the lies of the enemy, guarding our thoughts, and affirming our identity in Christ. Grace is not a license to sin — it empowers us to say no to sin and live righteously. We are now born of God, dead to sin, and called to good works.
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone — but the faith that saves never stands alone.
