Welcome back to The Top Three Podcast! In this episode, Zach and Miguel discuss all non-rap music (with an emphasis on pop music) with Bea Delafield.

Beginning by talking about their favorite artists, Hunter sophomore Bea Delafield joins Miguel and Zach as they bring up big names such as Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift pop up, and a debate over how good Taylor Swift really is just begins among the three. Moving into the second segment about best non-rap songs, pop, country and indie songs are brought up, ranging from artists like The Weeknd, to Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift (again), and Blake Shelton, which starts a debate over whether country music is good, or worth listening to at all, leading to some clashing between Miguel and Zach. Moving into the third section discussing best albums, more agreement is seen, as albums such as Michael Jackson’s Thriller, multiple Taylor Swift albums, and Lemonade by Beyoncé, and again, Taylor Swift’s music makes its way into the conversation, continuing the debate between Zach, Miguel, and Bea. In the fourth and final segment, the three go over hot takes sent in from the listeners, allowing for multiple debates to start or continue themselves, such as whether Taylor Swift is overrated, how highly the Beatles should be ranked all-time, and spirited discussions over both country music and classical music to wrap up Season 1.

Welcome to the penultimate episode of the first season of The  Top Three Podcast! In this episode, Miguel and Zach are joined by returning guest Marcus Mellody to discuss the quarantine that they are all in. The three argue over their favorite things to listen to and watch, what they’re most excited to do when they get out, and their favorite social media platforms in total..

Starting off with what they’ve been listening to, they all mention different podcasts while two mention a very special one. They also discuss what kind of music they’ve been listening to and their thoughts on each other’s music. As they continue on to what to watch, Miguel recommends a show to the others while Zach and Marcus discuss their tactics to watch what they’ve been watching. They then get into what they’re excited for with Zach probably jinxing Tottenham’s chances for this season. They end it off with a detailed analysis of the major social media platforms with them all agreeing on which one remains supreme.

Welcome to a special episode of the Top Three Podcast! We’re joined by Ben Starr again as we focus on the NBA draft that is happening on Wednesday. In today’s episode we just do each of our lotter projections where we then discuss each pick and at the end we read out our consensus lottery projections. The beginning of the mock draft, each person has the same or similar picks but towards the end, it falls apart with all three having wildly different picks. Zach has some spicy takes, while Ben and Miguel stay more grounded in reason.

Welcome to yet another episode of the Top Three Podcast! In this episode, Miguel and Zach are joined by special guest, Hunter sophomore and Top Three editor Declan Walsh to discuss candy. The three argue over their favorite chocolate candies, the most overrated candies, the best candy to get for Halloween, and Hot Takes from you, the listeners.

Starting off with best chocolate candies, there seems to be some consensus of a top 2, especially among Declan and Miguel, however Zach continues to bring up British origins, mentioning a certain British chocolate bar. As they continue on to Almond Joy, controversy begins to run high on candies such as Almond Joy and Twix, and the debates among all three continue into best Halloween candy. Declan and Miguel both argue over each other’s full top three, and Zach gives a questionable pick in his top three as well. He also brings an interesting business take up, that the others don’t seem to think it was such a great idea. Lastly, the three go over hot takes written by the listeners, and while some of the takes were questionable, Miguel, Zach, and Declan seemed to agree on their thoughts on most, including takes on tootsie rolls, lollipops, and even candy in general.

Welcome to another episode of the Top Three Podcast! In this episode Windward (Los Angeles, California) Sophomore Hudson Brown joins Zach and Miguel as a special guest, and together they discuss movies. They go over their favorite actors, directors, movies and finish it up with some hot takes submitted by the listeners.

Beginning with picks for their favorite actors, Miguel, Zach, and Hudson discuss who their favorite actors are with there being very little overlap, however Hudson and Zach do argue about who’s role in the Zodiac was better. They continue by talking about the best directors with everyone from Tarantino to Jordan Peele being mentioned. Everyone seems to agree that each other made good picks but one of Zach’s picks is fairly controversial. They all have different favorite movies but they tend to share many ideas about which movies are good, but don’t quite make it to the top. The episode ends with listener-submitted hot takes and they all find a way to disagree on almost every take.

Beginning with picks for the best conferences, Miguel, Zach, and Alex discuss which games they think are the best with Miguel and Zach agreeing a lot, however Alex had some interesting takes. They continue by discussing the best rivalries, with everything from the Red River Rivalry to the Game being mentioned. Everyone has different Heisman contenders with a certain Ohio State Quarterback being mentioned multiple times. Continuing onto a review of their CPF predictions, Miguel, Zach, and Alex all have similar orders but both Alex and Zach have surprising takes.

Beginning with picks for the best games during the 2020 playoffs, Miguel, Zach, and Ben discuss which games they thought were most fascinating, with everything from game-winners to triple-double performances. They continue by discussing the most impressive players from the NBA playoffs, with players like Jamal Murray, to Jayson Tatum, to Finals MVP LeBron. Everyone has some different combination of teams in their matchups they would have wanted to see during the playoffs. Continuing onto a review of their former playoff predictions, Miguel reviews his correct hot take with a seeding upset, and Zach is the only one who gets a finals pick right, while Ben and Miguel both admit their wrong picks for champion.

In this episode Hunter sophomore Emma Smith joins Zach and Miguel as a special guest, and together they discuss food, going over our favorite cuisines to eat in New York, favorite restaurants in New York, what they think the most classic New York food is, and we return to Hot Takes where we review the hot takes you sent in through our Instagram.

Starting off with favorite New York Cusines, there is some agreement, but also a lot of disagreements. Zach and Miguel both agree with much of what Emma says, but disagree with what the other says. Going to favorite restaurants, Zach and Miguel both mention restaurants that the others know while Emma gives her unique perspective from Brooklyn. Onto most classic NY foods, more arguments ensue, including whether history of the food or current status reigns supreme. Finishing off by returning with Hot Takes, each of Emma, Zach, and Miguel read three hot takes from listeners (takes sent via Instagram) and they discuss each one and whether or not they agree with the bold statement, leading to some disagreement, although an ultimate consensus decision is made for each take.

In this episode Hunter sophomore Evelyn Fitzpatrick joins Zach and Miguel as a special guest, and together they discuss TV, going over our favorite childhood shows, favorite TV show characters of all time, favorite TV shows, and a special new section called Hot Takes, where all of us pick our favorite hot takes that you, the listeners, sent!

Starting off with favorite childhood shows, there is plenty of agreement among the three although there is little overlap in the shows mentioned, and a few old-school shows even pop up. Going to favorite TV characters, Zach mentions multiple characters from a show that Evelyn also likes, but Miguel which finds boring, which leads to some arguments over whether the show is actually good. Onto favorite TV shows, more arguments ensue, including whether every season of a show needs to be good in order for it to be in someone’s top three. Finishing off with the brand new segment Hot Takes, each of Evelyn, Zach, and Miguel read three hot takes from listeners (takes sent via Instagram) and they discuss each one and whether or not they agree with the bold statement, leading to some disagreement, although an ultimate consensus decision is made for each take.

In this episode Hunter sophomore and longtime Yankee fan Nehru Madan joins Zach and Miguel as a special guest, and together they discuss the MLB, going over best young players right now, the biggest disappointments from the 2020 season, outbreak teams for the 2021 season, and our 2020 MLB playoff and World Series picks.

Starting off with picks for best young players, Miguel, Zach, and Nehru give their best players, with plenty of range, from stars like Ronald Acuña Jr, to surprises such as Kyle Lewis, although a consensus top three is formed after some debate among the three. Moving onto the biggest disappointments for the year, many star players are mentioned, and multiple recent World Series champions are discussed as Nehru, Zach, and Miguel talk about which players and teams they thought just didn’t live up to their standards. Everyone has some different combination of teams in their breakout team for 2021 picks, with some surprises like the below-.500 Mets, to teams who haven’t made the playoffs in decades! Continuing onto playoff predictions, Nehru picks a 5 seed to win it all, while Miguel and Zach have similar World Series predictions, forming some arguments over which teams are most well-suited to make a playoff run.
