The music-loving inhabitants of Pepperland are under siege by the Blue Meanies, a nasty group of music-hating creatures. The Lord Mayor of Pepperland (Dick Emery) dispatches sailor Old Fred (Lance Percival) to Liverpool, England, where he is to recruit the help of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr). The sympathetic Beatles ride a yellow submarine to the occupied Pepperland, where the Blue Meanies have no chance against the Fab Four's groovy tunes.

Cruella is a 2021 American crime comedy film based on the character Cruella de Vil from Dodie Smith's 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians.
=======
On this week’s The Tracklist, Daron Jenkins (@thedaronjenkins) and Chris Saunders (@chrissaunders_music) dive deep into Disney’s boldest soundtrack yet — Cruella (2021). This isn't your average villain origin story — it's high fashion, high stakes, and high-octane music that slaps harder than Cruella’s wardrobe.
From The Clash to Florence + The Machine, this soundtrack is a rebellious ride through 1970s London, with enough attitude to match Emma Stone’s fierce performance. We break down how music drives the story, the bold risks this film takes, and why Cruella earned a 97% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
🎤 Style meets sound. Punk meets orchestral. And Cruella meets The Tracklist.
