Traders Brawl CEO & Founder Adel Bhurtun interviewed Abdel, who describes himself as an active community member and holder of the OnChain Monkey (OCM) NFT.

In this episode, Abdel breaks down what OCM is, what makes it different to other NFT communities such as the arguably overrated Bored Ape Yacht Club community and advice on how to get started in the NFT arena.

Abdel is a passionate web3 enthusiast who plays an active role in staying on track of trending cryptocurrency and NFT projects.  He bought Bitcoin for the first time in 2017 alongside NFTs in April 2021. He has since been a strong believer in the 21st century technologies that have the power to revolutionise the way we live, work and benefit from being part of NFT communities such as  OCM.

Abdel, who goes by the Web3 alias, Balboa, has worked internationally across the Middle East and Africa region for the past 13 years and has been involved in projects in over 15 countries.  Abdel now leads a Data Center Design Engineering and Consultancy team in Dubai, and is involved in major Data Center projects throughout the region.

In a panel of industry experts, an Ex-regulator and some lawyers, this discussion unveiled some real-life use-cases of tokenising real-world assets, reasons to use cryptocurrencie and whether or not cryptocurrencies should be recognised as securities.
 
As the regulators and governments begin to consider of the emerging use cases for cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets, the Web3 space is certainly evolving and raising eyebrows globally. 

The Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) of Dubai recently issued Virtual Assets and Related Activities Regulations 2023. This is designed to be a comprehensive Virtual Asset (VA) Framework built on principles of economic sustainability and cross-border financial security.

Alongside this, the Securities Commodities Authority (SCA) also issued a framework concerning the Regulation of Virtual Assets and their Service Providers.

In this regulatory-infused discussion, this was led and moderated by crypto lawyer,  Irina Heaver alongside the following panelists:

What is a Bored Ape & Why is it So Valuable in the NFT world?

You've probably heard of the Ape or monkey NFT (Non-fungible Token), with celebrities flaunting pictures of weird wild apes on social media. The Apes, known as the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is the largest NFT project of its kind by valuation.

So what is the deal with these cartoon apes?

Traders Brawl CEO, Adel Bhurtun, had the privilege to interview two high-profile investors in the NFT space. The guests of this episode are Sean Clancy, and Nino Ulrich.

Sean is an experienced development solutions manager and has run dev operations for some of the most notable NFT projects in the Middle East. Sean is also managing director of KO8 gym, one of the leading health & wellness providers in the UAE and has worked in partnership with brands such as Under Armour, Lulu Lemon, Ferrari and Technogym through various large scale events.

Nino is a former banker at Deutsche Bank for 10 years in Frankfurt, London and Bangkok. Nino bought his  first Bitcoin in 2016 and has built tangible blockchain prototypes and applications since 2017. Nino prides himself at managing digital assets such as crypto and NFTs and is now 

Adel, the podcast host of his company, Traders Brawl, is an ex-Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulator who worked in the authorisations department, (providing licenses and authorisation to companies seeking registration). Adel discovered crypto in 2017 as an alternative store of value to the US dollar and now manages his own digital assets portfolio across NFTs, altcoins and Bitcoin with his own personal money. Adel also co-founded Traders Brawl , a Web3 social media marketing agency (SMMA) providing affordable marketing material for Web3, FinTech and blockchain-based start-ups.

Adel Bhurtun, Traders Brawl CEO, had the honour to moderate a panel on the the scalability of Play-to-Earn (P2E) gaming with panelists, Paul Dawalibi, Dusan Zica and Omrei Abu Madi.

What makes blockchain games different from every-day regular video games  is the fact that such games provide investors with free crypto tokens, which can subsequently be exchanged for fiat currencies. Bear in mind that these crypto tokens are not generally not backed by any security or anything tangible, leaving open question marks over the earning aspect of P2E gaming.

In this discussion, panelists are put on the spot when asked where the money is derived from in P2E Gaming.  Is P2E really a scam or is it real? Are we yet to see a proper successful blockchain game with proper P2E capabilities?
