How We Got Started

I had may handy types fixing my home when I was a corporate exec. Most were very unprofessional. I saw this as an opportunity to help people get it done right without the hassle. My aim is to take the pain out of the process by being responsive and closely monitoring my projects. We have been featured in Costco and have top notch ratings from our clients. Most have referred us to friends and family...and use us over and over again.

Armor Tek is a highly referred and trusted home improvement contractor in San Diego. We help you with all aspects of repairs, preparation to final clean-up. Many people demo when they should be saving money & refurbishing…so DON’T WREK it, ARMOR TEK IT!

As young as 5 years old I have memories of trying to get people to pay me to provide some kind of service for them. Call them businesses or a poor kid wanting money to buy candy, I always had a strong desire to work hard for monetary reward. The first real business where I made a good amount of money was when I was 10 years old, I learned how to make balloon animals from a book and started making balloon animals for kids birthday parties. Eventually that lead me to a man who had lots of connections in the entertainment business and by age 12 I was a full on clown doing magic, juggling, face paint and making balloon animals working at the spring fling, restaurants, birthday parties and many other events. Since then I have created dozens of successful businesses in many different industries. Currently own and operate a real estate company, construction company, insurance company, vocational school, investment company, property management company, minor resort and other various companies that are offshoots of these companies or industries. Many ask me how I do it all and I will tell you it is WE who do it all. Being surrounded by great individuals is the key to our success and will continue to drive us to new levels of achievements.

From a young age, Mike had a keen interest in the built environment and how things are constructed. After graduating from Washington State University and a six-month tour in Afghanistan with the US Air Force, Mike worked as a carpenter apprentice to gain hands-on experience to go with his formal education.

Mike quickly worked his way up from an apprentice, journeyman, foreman, and general foreman while managing commercial structural retrofit projects in the metropolitan area of Portland, OR.

After moving to San Diego, Mike worked as an estimator and project manager for a waterproofing subcontractor. After a few years, it was time to start a business.
