In this episode, I’m joined by Ruby Renaut, founder of WUKA, an ethically and sustainably sourced brand that creates the most beautifully designed period products. WUKA stands for Wake-Up Kick-Ass and is on a mission to break down body and period taboos, emphasising that periods are not shameful.
Ruby grew up in Nepal. She shares her experience of Nepalese culture where girls are seen to be untouchable whilst on their period and therefore separated from their families.
She has also launched a campaign calling on the government to remove the tax on period pants which is still an ongoing battle.
Both ruby’s story and mission is fascinating and I hope that you enjoy listening. If you do gain value from this episode, pls share it with your friends, loved ones and do leave a cheeky review and rating on Apple podcasts. Also, don’t forget to subscribe.
