The Trainer Trio finally begins its Hoenn adventure—after their original recording is claimed by Sean’s full computer storage.

Chris chooses Torchic in Pokémon Ruby, Dustin takes Treecko in Pokémon Sapphire, and Sean somehow receives the incredibly powerful Mudkip in Pokémon Emerald. Along the road from Littleroot Town to Rustboro City, the Trio introduces their new trainers, catches its first Hoenn Pokémon, encounters Team Aqua and Team Magma, and discovers just how useful five Zigzagoon can apparently be.

The journey ends with Roxanne and the Stone Badge, but not everyone escapes the first Gym without a whiteout. Then, the opening Hoenn Battles put their new teams—and ownership of Shroomish—on the line.

Who will begin the season on top, and whose Hoenn campaign already needs a new strategy?

The Trainer Trio is setting sail for Hoenn—but first, they need enough rules to prevent the season from becoming six over leveled Water-types and a strategy guide.

Chris takes on Pokémon Ruby, Dustin ventures into Pokémon Sapphire, and Sean attempts to reclaim his Pokémon Master throne in Pokémon Emerald. Before choosing their starters, the Trio breaks down Season 3’s updated team rules, their one-shot Battle Tower challenge, locked-out Pokémon selections, and a mysterious exception to the no-legendaries rule.

They also revisit their growing Ultimate Teams, discuss the major changes introduced in Generation 3, and share the childhood memories that made Hoenn special—including lost cartridges, level-100 starters, and the origin of BlazenRuby.

The starters remain secret until Episode 1, but the competition has already begun.
