In this episode, we speak with Natalie Colbert, Founder of CanPLAY, a collection of early learning and child care centers around Canberra. 

With the collapse of ABC learning child care centers, Natalie identified a gap in the market, and using her military background as an Airforce Officer and knowledge of the local area was able to succeed in an incredibly difficult market, eventually owning four child care centers. 

Natalie talks about what it takes to grow a business while you are still in Defence, how to scale and take advantage of the market, and the effects of COVID-19 which has devastated the industry. 

Roy is the founder and CEO of Definitiv, a cloud-based payroll and HR platform.

Starting his young career as a tank driver, he dreamed of being on operations, but unfortunately due to an injury, he subsequently transferred to pay corp. Devastated at the time, this lead him down the path to creating a payroll company and selling it. Then working in the same company, and hating it. Eventually deciding to buy his business back, transferring it in a tech-based company that has since been through several rounds of funding. 

Roy provides some amazing guidance and advice around selling a business, buying a business, scaling a business, and raising funds.
