The Trash Heap Podcast

Join us as we explore an alternate reality where bears dance and sing for our amusement. SciFi summer is almost over but first we absolutely have to talk Beary Barrington and the musical stylings of The Country Bears.

Strange things are afoot under the biosphere and we're not going to stop until we solve the mystery of Dr. Barry and the Arboria Institute. The latest entry in our endless SciFi Summer is 2010's enigmatic Beyond the Black Rainbow.

Bay Area funny boy Chad Optiz joins us to probe the cultural complexities and buddy cop buffoonery of the 1988 film Alien Nation. We also talk sasquatch, childhood memories, old man strength, and interspecies relations.

Welcome to the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the content of this episode and blah blah blah you know the rest.

Come with us to see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

What do you get when you combine computer hacking, a rowdy babysitter, early 90's hip hop, and a lost address book? It's Ghost in the Machine, of course.

A 20 year old nightmare inspired us to revisit Dreamscape (1984) and all we want to do is wake up.

Just like the old saying goes, "Preparation is the key to successful, inconspicuous time travel. Luck is the residue of design."

We're coming at you with heavy spoilers, heavy subject matter, and a heavy dose of time-travel as we discuss Predestination (2014).

Sci-Fi Summer starts here! The miracle of childbirth doesn't stand a chance against Arnold Schwarzenegger and an experimental fertility drug in 1994's Junior. We won't need 9 months to get through this one.

The Egg Chronicles reach their terrifying conclusion as we sink our teeth into AVP, Roger Corman's greatest hits, and life itself.

Also, stay 'til the end to find out where the Trash Heap goes from here.

Albino aliens, suspicious planets, and twin androids are just the tip of the iceberg. This is part III of our Alien Retrospective, featuring Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
