  • Trove Tourism is helping to promote destinations around the World to attract visitors. Excellent.

Danny Cohanpour is the CEO of Trove Tourism Development Adivisors and represents destinations all over the World.
Danny's company has helped places like Dubai, Cambodia, Philippines and Fiji stand out in crowded markets. They take over everything from a branding strategy to digital marketing content to analytics all in an effort to help these places grow or diversify their visitor base. They also have a team that does tourism and tourism investment strategies.
He is a self-confessed scrappy, hard-working individual, and the number one thing he values is team dynamics. Teams that don't have fun fail. Teams that meet for coffee or drinks always do better. He loves getting to know people and bringing the best out of others for their projects.
He has 10+ years in helping tourism destinations transform.
Listen to the conversation and you might well be booking your next trip, even to the place mentioned at the end where goats hang out in trees.

  • Born in Switzerland. Lived in Australia. > Change of Course: Sailing into Love & Adversity on Caribbean Shores.

In her mid 30s and settled in Australia, Regina Meyer was restless and questioning the lifespan of her long-term relationship, unable to quash the insatiable wanderlust within.
With her passion for sailing ignited by her father when she was just ten years old, the pull of the deep blue sea had never drifted far from her mind. With the promise of freedom, simplicity and most of all, adventure – a curious and courageous Regina booked herself a oneway ticket to the Caribbean and joined the crew of a small, vintage racing yacht.
Then sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and back again.

    Her her brave story.

  • One of the Travel Addict's favorite islands on the planet. Phuket, Thailand.

As a frequent visitor to Asia, I will typically stop over for a few days in Phuket, Thailand.
Located in the Andaman Sea, just west of Thailand, Phuket offers much.

    • Great beaches
    • Cheap hotels and luxurious resorts
    • Scuba diving
    • Golf
    • Nightlife
    • Cost effectiveness
    • Great ethnic food
    • Rich culture
    • Historical sites
    • Safety
    • Singha, Leo and Chang beer 😊

For the ex-pats who live there, of which there are many, there is excellent health care and an excellent standard of living.
Thai people are very welcoming, friendly and lovable people.
It is one of my "Happy Places". I have 2 or 3 of them around the world.
If you are in Asia for any reason, stop over in Phuket for a few days, or just book a week or two there. No regrets.

  • Hanging out with the locals in the most marine biodiverse place on earth - Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat is a place not known to many, except maybe avid scuba divers.

It is not exactly the easiest place to get to, however the tolerance of nighttime flights and unreliable ferry and boat rides was well worth it for me.
After diving in well-known places like the Caribbean, Palau, Sipadan, Fiji, Andaman Sea, to name a few, I quickly came to the conclusion that this area comes out on top, primarily because of the pristine condition of the coral reef system and the variety and quantity of marine life.
I know it is a strange comparison, but activity-wise, underwater around Raja Ampat reminds me of Atlanta Airport on a busy weekday.
So what did I see? Basically, a lot of beautiful and strange fish, including Wobbegong Sharks, Stingrays, Bicolor Angelfish, Blacktip Reef Sharks, Leaf Scorpionfish, Frogfish, Batfish, Papuan Garden Eel, Walking Sharks, Bumphead Parrotfish, and Crocodilefish to name a few.
In addition, I went trekking in the jungle in search of Indonesia's Bird of Paradise.
The local villages came by on my last night and entertained the resort  guests with traditional singing and dancing. Just delightful.
Check out this video of my diving escapades. Thank you GoPro camera.

  • Here I go again: Off-the-beaten-path in the World's oldest desert.

When I mentioned that I was going to the country of Namibia to spend time in the world's oldest desert, people asked questions such as, "Where is that?", "Why?", "Are you crazy?"
    I somewhat expected that.
After a 15 hour flight from ATL - JNB and then a 2 hour flight to WDH, I was in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
I hired a driver for the 5 hour trip to the Desert Hills Lodge in the Namib Desert, which has been there for 55 million years.
Breathtaking scenery kept my GoPro camera busy.
I climbed the world's highest sand dune, took a ride in a hot air balloon, became isolated on the top of a mountain, climbed into a canyon, saw several native animals, and enjoyed the magnificent sunsets.
Remember these names. Better still, search on Google and YouTube:

    • Sossusvlei
    • Deadvlei
    • Namib Desert
    • Sesriem Canyon

It is a unique place on our wonderful planet and needs to be on your travel bucket list. I will have YouTube videos posted soon.
In my quest to do as much as I can before I throw in the towel, this was well worth the time and effort.
    Memories of a life time.
