Kanya Sesser is a professional skateboarder, model, actress, public speaker and influencer. She may have had a rough start to her life but she is proving all things are possible. We had a great talk about her successes being the first adaptive person to perform in the X Games and what it’s like to travel from place to place whether fro public speaking, competing or modeling. She has a great outlook on life, a supportive family and boyfriend that helps her thru the hard times that we all experience.

ABOUT Kanya Sesser
Kanya was born in Pak Chong, Thailand without legs. She was abandoned on the front steps of a Buddhist temple when she was only one week old. The monks at the temple took care of her for one year until she was transferred to a Bangkok hospital. The plan was to find her a family, and more importantly a loving home. For a few years she lived with an older loving couple that she loved to call her grandparents. It was at the age of 5 that she was finally united with her devoted adoptive parents and destiny brought her to Portland, Oregon.

Pushed by her inexhaustible energy and her invincible attitude not to let anything stop her she started at a very young age with skateboarding, surfing, mono skiing, tennis, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair racing, hiking, swimming, break dancing, quad driving and a lot more. After competing in 100, 200 and 400 meter wheelchair racing events at school and at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ she has intensified training to qualify for Team USA for the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in mono skiing.

At the age of 15 she began modeling sportswear. While launching her screen acting career with a guest appearance on Code Black (2015) in 2015, her barrier breaking lingerie photo shoot and her modeling campaigns with major brands like Nike, Billabong and Panty Prop received massive media attention worldwide and have changed the fashion model world as well as the advertising model world forever.

Misaki Aono, the lead singer of the Japanese rockabilly group, The Biscats, is a prominent figure in the Japanese rockabilly scene. Her passion for rockabilly was ignited by her father, who was a member of a rockabilly band during her upbringing. Inspired by her father's musical background, Misaki pursued her own career as a rockabilly singer.

The Biscats have gained recognition both in Japan and internationally. They played at the 2019 Viva Las Vegas weekend in the United States, a renowned event for rockabilly enthusiasts, and they regularly perform around 40 shows a year in Japan. Misaki's involvement in the 5 Seconds of Summer video "Youngblood," which has garnered an impressive 212 million views, further boosted her visibility.

Touring can be demanding, with long hours of travel and constant performances, but Misaki finds joy in connecting with the audience and sharing her music with fans. Tedi Serge is my guest today. Tedi started Girl Powerful® which is a youth empowerment 501(c)3 organization with her sister Sonya. Started in 2014, Girl Powerful is designed to give tween and teen girls the social and emotional learning tools to build a strong sense of self.
She took the opportunity of the lockdown to expand their reach to virtual nationwide programs in addition to their in person teachings. The sisters and their guest mentors are enjoying speaking with tweens and teens about social media and peer pressures and how to protect themselves.

How do you build healthy and friendly neighborhood convenience stores?
Varish Goyal is a businessman, father and husband who continues to build his family business of neighborhood friendly gas station convenience stores. Varish shared the background of the company and how he is continuing to grow the business with technology and leadership.
He has a great story from his college days and stressed the idea that what you start out thinking you want in a career might, and often times, change over time. He found this out after being enrolled in the pre-med program at Wake Forest University. Switching to an MBA degree and now being the president of a multi chain store chain seems fortuitous now.

Can you create mainstream fame from Tik Tok fame?
Josiah Smith is an actor, father and husband who is finding fame making comedic skits using the Tik Tok app. He is now looking to see if he can leverage his Tik Tok fame and work his way into a “traditional” comedic show. For me the Tik Tok app is a new adventure into the social media world of platforms but for him he is seeing a surge of acceptance and acknowledgement growing his 400K followers fan base. Josiah is using the app to create comedy skits utilizing his wife, daughter and friends to complete the sketches. His “Bad Sheriff” character is particularly funny for me as I can relate to raising daughters and the fun that can happen along the way.

His wife, Kristin Smith, stays busy as the sports anchor for their local CBS news channel so we talked about balancing schedules while raising their daughter and how they are planning on handling his growing responsibilities with making content. Make sure to listen to his response when I ask him if he is starting to feel pressure to make more and better content.

Coming from a difficult but nurturing upbringing OP learned how to be successful and now shares his success with his team.
