Creatures are perhaps one of the most important pieces in the game of Magic. And with the prevalence of creatures in Magic, many players are bound to have a favorite type of creature. Aesthetic enjoyment paired with mechanical support from WOTC leads many players to build decks around their favorite creature type. These decks are known as "tribal" decks, and are often highly synergistic.  However, many players may be sacrificing deck functionality for thematic building.
