Pastor Jason Mayhall leads the continuation of the sermon series entitled "The Crown and the Cross," at Redemption Bible Church. Pastor Jason teaches about Mark's concise description of the baptism and temptation of Jesus. Through this description of Jesus' baptism, we see all three persons of the Trinity present: God the Father declaring love for His beloved Son, Jesus being baptized, and the Holy Spirit descending from heaven in the form of a dove. Immediately after this, Satan attempts to tempt Jesus to turn His back on the eternal relationship He enjoys within the Trinity, and put all the focus on Himself. This is a choice for us every day: Do we step away from God and give in to the temptation to put all focus on ourselves, or do we participate in an everlasting dance with the Creator of all that is, the Triune God?
