God created us so that He could have fellowship with us, and be involved in all our affairs, and the only way that can come to pass is if and when we seek sincere fellowship and time with Him. Tell Him all our problems, our hopes and dreams, as well as listen to what plans He might have in store for us. For believe it or not, the Lord has a plan for every life that He creates, and the best way to know that plan is by spending time with Him and asking about it. Now, obviously He might not tell us all of it, but He will certainly show us the path that He wants us to tread, and then guide us step by step until we reach the destiny He's planned for us. But there's a part that we need to play; be obedient to His will and word. And that's not always easy, but He's such a great and caring God that He's promised never to leave nor forsake us, nor allow us to go through any tests or trials on our own. and that's where our faith, our trust and belief in Him comes in to play. The more faith we have, the more we will see of His goodness and wonderful character. Thus it is imperative that we believe. As the Good Book tells us; ONLY BELIEVE...that 's all that's required.
