What drives your life—the flesh, personal ambition, or the Holy Spirit?
In this powerful episode, Pastor Ed Snyder explains the difference between simply being busy and genuinely being led by the Spirit. Flesh-driven living produces conflict, selfish ambition, instability, and destructive reactions. Spirit-led living produces life, peace, power, purpose, and visible transformation.
The Holy Spirit was not given merely to provide a one-time spiritual experience. He gives us the power to become witnesses, overcome the flesh, pursue our God-given purpose, and live according to biblical principles.
The evidence of a Spirit-driven life is not merely talent, activity, or ambition. It is the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities are not simply personality traits; they are supernatural products of a Spirit-filled life.
Pastor Snyder also examines the anatomy of a principled person. A principled person is not someone who never experiences pressure. It is someone who has already decided what they will do before the pressure comes.
Psalm 15 describes a person who:
- Walks uprightly
- Practices righteousness
- Speaks truth from the heart
- Keeps commitments even when it becomes costly
- Remains stable and refuses to be moved
Daniel demonstrated this kind of conviction when he determined in his heart that he would not defile himself. Daniel’s three Hebrew friends displayed the same strength when they refused to compromise their worship—even when facing the fiery furnace.
What you stand for determines what you will not fall for. When your convictions are settled before the pressure arrives, temptation does not get to make the decision for you.
“You don’t need more motivation. You need more of the Holy Spirit. He is the engine of the principled, purpose-driven life.”
