1) Read Jesus' words to his disciples in John 14:12. Do you have a hard time believing that your faith in Christ can allow you to do even greater things than Christ? How could this be possible?

2) Jeremiah 2:19-21 reveals God's anger towards His people for not living out their purpose. What are some ways that you see believers today neglecting to live out their purpose?

3) Read John 15:1-2 and then Galatians 5:22-23. Of the “fruit” described, where do you think you need to allow God to do some pruning to encourage the growth?

4) What does being connected to Christ (the true grapevine) entail? What are daily disciplines or spiritual practices that could help keep this connection strong?

5) Read James 1:2-4. In light of James' words and the sermon on fruit and pruning, how could you consider troubles that come your way as “pure joy”?
