The Truth About Acceptance
- You only need to accept the things you care about – If it's not something drastically important to your quality of life, it doesn't deserve your acceptance. You don't have to accept things that aren't yours to care for.
- The more difficult accepting is, the more progress you'll make – The hardest things for us to accept are the things we don't understand. (Other people's perspectives & opinions) Accepting their words opens the door to more progress.
- Nobody automatically deserves your acceptance – Just because someone has invested time in you, demands respect, or feels you owe them something…that doesn't mean you must accept them. Most people are simply circumstantial.
- Accepting things is the first step to moving forward – Once you recognize and accept the habit that isn't working for you, you flip the ignition switch and can begin focusing in the areas that will move you forward.
- You don't have to accept anything that's not valuable to you – You don't have to care because someone else does. If what you're caring about or feel you're being forced to accept is counterintuitive, don't accept it.
