Publisher's Summary:
Bold, passionate, and possessive, the Cynster men let nothing stand in their way when it comes to claiming the women of their hearts. Gerrard Debbington, Vane Cynster's brother-in-law, is one of London's most eligible gentlemen. Uninterested in marriage, his driving passion is to paint the fabled gardens of Lord Tregonning's Hellebore Hall, an opportunity that is now at hand - if Gerrard agrees to create an honest portrait of Tregonning's daughter as well.
Gerrard chafes at wasting his talents on some simpering miss, only to discover that Jacqueline Tregonning stirs him as no other. Certainly, she is beautiful, but it is her passionate nature that strikes sparks with Gerrard's own, igniting desire, sweeping them into each other's arms, and convincing Gerrard that he has found his ideal soul mate - the lady he must have as his wife.
But something is horribly wrong at Hellebore Hall. Evil and lies are reaching out to ensnare Jacqueline, and Gerrard will have to move heaven and earth to protect the remarkable woman who, for him, personifies the truth about love.

I totally miss Simon Prebble
This will probably be my last Cynster(audio book) novel. I have listened to the last 11 books in this series and thought that since I liked the series I could tolerate the new narrator. I was wrong. I found myself replying it often to keep up. After a person listens to the voices of characters, it's difficult to keep up with the changes. Don't get me wrong. I think the narrator is an okay listen, but he's no Simon Prebble. As far as the story goes, it was just okay. The author is a fantastic storyteller. The book is well written and I found that the mystery was unforseen.
Not above par for Ms. Laurens
Hard to keep with her storyline. Appreciate the family Cynsters and staying in touch, just lost the magic.
I don't believe there is an adjective left to use.
What disappointed you about The Truth About Love?
This was a stunningly, dark and abject tale... so goes the way this story was laid out. The use of descriptive adjectives and words were very worrisome. I could barely stand to listen to this book I purchased to get me through work... uggh... 16 hours of it. I fast forwarded through at least half of it. I like some of her books but this was definitely, absolutely, and resolutely not one of them. : - (
Has The Truth About Love turned you off from other books in this genre?

What about Matthew Brenhers performance did you like?
Had a very good voice for historicals
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Any additional comments?
I will try her books again but I can't say it will be anytime in the near future.
