On this podcast episode, your hosts (Zukkie and Amaka) are joined by Ellie, who shares her amazing journey of immigrating to America from Venezuela as a teenager. Ellie holds a PhD in Physics and works as an Engineer in a big tech corporation. She landed in the US in 2001 just few weeks before 9/11 happened, amidst the world crisis and turmoil, she was able to quickly adjust and integrate into her new life in America as a seventeen year old. She has excelled academically, spiritually and in her relationships. She shares her story of how she was able to overcome the initial culture shock and integrate fully into the American culture while holding on to her unique Latin heritage. She shares her journey of Faith in God and how she met her husband while pursuing her PhD in graduate school. Ellie's story is very encouraging and demonstrates the resilience and determination immigrants wield when they get to a new country.
